Nordex is global leader in wind turbine manufacturing, and we are excited to announce that we are expanding our footprint in Türkiye with a new blade production plant in İzmir. As we are growing with a new production plant, we are looking for a qualified and experienced Plant Quality UT Engineer to be responsible for the following daily operations.


Responsibilities


  • Perform and oversee in-process UT quality control and acceptance of parts, materials, and processes in designated work areas (including carbon parts and bondlines).
  • Document and record all findings through photographs and control form sign-offs, following NX control plans.
  • Independently conduct non-destructive material tests on non-metallic materials such as CFRP, GFRP, and adhesives.
  • Evaluate test results according to applicable standards, regulations, or specifications and document findings accurately.
  • Prepare and implement detailed inspection reports and maintain compliance records.
  • Generate reports and NCRs for unacceptable defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support ongoing projects and product development through technical expertise and inspection leadership.
  • Perform UT inspections on wind turbine blades and other composite structures.
  • Utilize quality tools to reduce bonding defects and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Mentor and guide UT technicians and junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and adherence to best practices.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • ASNT Level II or Level III UT certification (Phased Array and TOFD experience preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in UT/NDT operations.
  • Hands-on experience in composite materials inspection (CFRP, GFRP, adhesives).
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles and industry standards (ASME, ISO, API).
  • Excellent visual acuity for detailed inspections.
  • Proficiency in UT techniques and NDT software tools.
  • Computer skills including MS Office applications and SAP.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
  • Communication, and problem-solving skills.
