Plant Room Operator (Engineering)

The Plant Room Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within the property. This includes maintaining boilers, chillers, pumps, air conditioning systems, and other related plant equipment in accordance with hotel standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor all plant room equipment including chillers, boilers, pumps, compressors, and cooling towers.
• Ensure all plant systems function efficiently and in accordance with safety and operational standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Record operating data such as temperatures, pressures, and flow rates in the logbook and report any abnormalities.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments to plant room machinery when required.
• Support the Engineering team in troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the plant room and mechanical areas.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Assist in energy conservation initiatives and cost-saving measures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality or facilities industry.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
