Plasma Table Operator

PLASMA TABLE OPERATOR

Mid City Steel is looking to fill an immediate opening to operate the plasma table. We offer competitive wages, paid vacation, retirement plan and health benefits.

Starting Pay: $22 - $26 commensurate with experience

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Proper fulfillment of work orders
-Program and / or load pre-drawn files via onboard programming software
-Loading/unloading material via forklift or overhead crane
-Maintain clean work area
-Use of hand/power tools as needed
-Be mindful and work in a safe fashion
-Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
-Support and assist in other duties around the shop as they arise

Candidate requirements:
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Good work ethic and attitude
-Experience with plasma cutting (preferred)
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
-Basic and shop math knowledge
-Ability to properly read and use measuring tools as required
-Forklift certification (preferred)
-Ability to lift at least 50lbs. by yourself

Qualifications & Experience:

• 3+ years experience operating Plasma Table (preferred)
• Proficient in reading blueprints and engineering drawings
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and processes
• Able to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Must be able to tolerate exposure to typical noises associated with a warehouse environment.

Job Type: Full-time Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:30pm (flexible)
