Platform Engineering Expert

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer Expert to join our Infrastructure Platform Engineering team. This role is intended for a highly skilled engineer who will serve as the technical authority within the team owning complex infrastructure, improving automation, and mentoring other engineers. This is a senior individual contributor role (not managerial) designed for an engineer who brings deep technical knowledge and a passion for mentorship. Around 75 % of the work will be hands-on technical execution , with the remainder focused on guiding and enabling other engineers

The Platform Engineer Expert will design, optimize, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure and developer platforms with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and security . The role is hands-on and ideal for someone who thrives on solving deep technical challenges and improving systems at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as thetechnical reference pointfor complex platform issues and architecture decisions.
• Design, implement, and optimize infrastructure architectures for reliability and performance.
• Lead major upgrades, migrations, and automation initiatives.
• Own and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code modules (Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• Implement and enforcesecrets management, SSL/TLS, and IAMstandards.
• Drive observability and performance improvements across clusters and services.
• Automate platform operations through scripting (Bash, or Go).
• Collaborate with security, architecture, and development teams to align standards.
• Conduct peer reviews and mentor engineers in best practices.
• Support incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and resilience testing.
  
  

Essential

Job Requirements

• 6–8 yearsof experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure roles.
• Deep expertise inLinux,Kubernetes, andInfrastructure-as-Code(Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• Strong understanding ofcloud infrastructure(compute, networking, storage, IAM).
• Experience inCI/CD pipeline management(GitLab).
• Advanced scripting ability inBash, plus working knowledge inGo.
• Proven knowledge ofsecrets management and security best practices(Vault, SSL/TLS, IAM).
• Hands-on experience withobservability tools(Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers.

• Experience inmulti-cloud or hybridenvironments.
• Background incost optimization, scaling, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity withSRE principles(SLOs, SLIs, error budgets).
  
  

Certifications (Preferred/Advantageous)

• Kubernetes:Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
• IaC:HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
• Security:HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate
• Cloud:OCI, AWS, or GCP Professional/Architect certification
