Job Overview
At Play Street Museum Ashburn, we create a joyful, imaginative, and educational space where children learn through play. As a team member, you’ll be at the heart of that mission welcoming families, supporting interactive play, and helping keep our environment clean, safe, and fun. This role blends customer service, light admin, and creative engagement with children.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Experience: Greet families warmly, manage check-ins/reservations, and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
  • Play Facilitation: Guide and engage children during open-play sessions, themed events, birthday parties, and craft activities.
  • Exhibit Oversight: Monitor play areas like our Town Square, light bright, slime lab, and train table to ensure safety and encourage imaginative play.
  • Cleanliness Safety: Reset exhibits and follow cleaning protocols between sessions to keep our space tidy and safe.
  • Admin Operations: Answer phone calls, assist with reservations, manage basic retail transactions, and help track inventory.
  • Team Support: Assist with opening/closing tasks, restocking craft supplies, and maintaining exhibit materials.

Experience

  • Prior customer service or child-focused experience preferred, but not required.
  • Comfortable with physical activity, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to multitask in a dynamic setting.
  • A love for playful learning, creativity, and working with young children.
  • Weekend availability required; weekday shifts also available (especially during school breaks).

Schedule and Compensation:

  • Hours: 10- 20 hours per week (flexible, based on need).
  • Shifts: Daytime (open 8am-6pm) and weekends; closed on Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas Day.
  • Pay: $16.00/ hour
