Key details about the role and the candidate

BENTEC, part of Helmerich & Payne (H&P), is seeking a motivated PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer eager to transition into the Oil & Gas sector. If you have hands-on experience in PLC programming, automation systems, and industrial controls—and want to expand your expertise into drilling technologies—this is your opportunity to grow with a global leader.

Primary responsibilities

You’ll play a key role in supporting and commissioning advanced drilling equipment and automation systems, including:

• Programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing PLC-based control systems
• Assisting with commissioning and integration of Top Drive and related drilling equipment
• Supporting automation and drive technology systems for safe and efficient operations
• Preparing technical documentation and client handover reports
• Collaborating on upgrades and retrofits for drilling automation solutions

What You Bring

• Strong background in PLC programming (Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, or similar)
• Knowledge of automation and industrial control systems
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Fluent English (spoken, written, read); other languages are a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering tools
• Willingness to travel internationally and adapt to varied working environments
• Desire to develop expertise in Oil & Gas drilling technologies
