Position Overview
:
The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) Originals team is seeking a motivated and creative Production Intern to support the development and execution of the league’s long-form and premium storytelling initiatives. This role is designed for interns interested in documentary filmmaking, episodic series, and narrative-driven sports content.

The Originals Production Intern will work closely on PLL Originals projects, assisting with all phases of production including pre-production, field production, post-production, and asset management. Projects may include documentary features, docuseries, athlete profiles, branded originals, and broadcast-integrated storytelling for PLL-owned platforms and ESPN.

This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in high-level sports storytelling and understands that great originals are built through strong research, intentional shooting, thoughtful editing, and detailed organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the production of PLL Originals projects, including documentaries, docuseries, and long-form features.
  • Support pre-production tasks such as research, shot planning, interview prep, and production logistics.
  • Edit short and long-form content in support of Originals projects, including, select pulls, string-outs, rough cuts, social cuts, and internal review edits.
  • Assist in logging, tagging, organizing, and archiving footage for ongoing and future Originals projects.
  • Pull selects and historical footage for producers and editors of various projects.
  • Support on-location shoots by assisting with camera setup, audio, lighting, media management, and general production needs.
  • Capture supplementary b-roll, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Originals team to ensure assets are delivered accurately, on time, and in line with PLL Production standards.

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in film, media production, journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in documentary filmmaking, sports storytelling, and long-form content.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects experience is a plus.
  • Basic experience operating cameras for interviews, b-roll, or documentary-style shooting.
  • Fundamental understanding of audio and lighting techniques for interviews and controlled environments.
  • Ability to create, develop, and execute compelling ideas that support narrative-driven content.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail, especially in media management and archiving.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative production environment.
  • Ability to take direction, incorporate feedback, and learn quickly.
  • Experience in sports production is a plus; knowledge of lacrosse is helpful but not required.

Compensation:
  • $16-$18/hr
