1. Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesA. Installation Works
- Install, connect, and test all plumbing and sanitary systems (cold/hot water lines, drainage, waste, vent systems).
- Fit and install fixtures and equipment such as wash basins, sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and kitchen fittings.
- Assist in installing firefighting and irrigation lines (if applicable to the fit-out scope).
- Ensure proper alignment, slope, and leak-free joints in all piping systems.
B. Coordination
- Coordinate plumbing works with MEP, civil, and interior finishing teams to avoid clashes with electrical conduits, false ceilings, and furniture layouts.
- Follow shop drawings and installation details provided by the QS/Draftsman or Engineer.
- Report any discrepancies between site conditions and drawings to the site engineer.
C. Maintenance and Testing
- Conduct pressure testing for water lines and leak tests for drainage systems.
- Repair and replace damaged pipes, fittings, or fixtures as required.
- Perform final commissioning checks before handover.
D. Safety and Compliance
- Follow all health and safety guidelines on-site, using proper PPE and tools.
- Ensure all installations comply with local plumbing codes, standards, and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after installation.
E. Documentation and Reporting
- Record completed works and materials used daily.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings by marking actual pipe routes and fixture locations.
- Inform supervisors about material shortages or technical issues.
2. Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, fittings, and sanitary installations.
- Ability to read and interpret plumbing/shop drawings.
- Skill in using plumbing tools and testing equipment.
- Awareness of safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Teamwork and coordination with other trades (electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).
3. Tools and Equipment Used
- Pipe threading and cutting machines
- Welding/soldering tools (as required)
- Pressure testing kits
- Wrenches, pliers, and sealant materials
4. Reporting Structure
- Reports to: MEP / Fit-Out Engineer or Site Supervisor
- Coordinates with: Electricians, HVAC Technicians, Civil Foreman, Draftsman
