The primary purpose of this position is to maintain and repair plumbing systems and other related equipment on ECU’s main campus. Duties include the maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of all types of plumbing fixtures and water, steam, gas and sprinkler systems piping. Duties also include unstopping waste lines and maintaining/repairing domestic hot water heat exchangers, regulators, pilot valves, gas and electric water heaters, and circulating pumps. Must be able to read and understand building and system drawings. Maintenance of air compressors and backflow preventer devices are also responsibilities of this position. Completes preventive and corrective maintenance work orders. Operates ECU vehicles which requires a valid driver’s license. This position is also considered essential in responding to adverse weather events.
Minimum Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
- Experience in the repair, replacement, or installation of related piping systems is preferred.
- Backflow preventer certification is preferred.

A valid NC Driver’s License.
