- Design, plan, and oversee installation of plumbing systems for civil construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and client requirements.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and plumbing layouts in accordance with project needs and statutory codes.
- Conduct detailed site inspections and audits to verify plumbing system installation quality, safety, and functionality.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of plumbing systems within civil works.
- Assess and select plumbing materials, components, fixtures, and equipment based on performance, sustainability, and cost considerations.
- Monitor the progress of plumbing works on site, ensuring that all activities are completed as per the approved programme and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve issues related to water supply, drainage, sewage, and firefighting piping systems.
- Prepare reports, risk assessments, and technical documentation, ensuring all records are up to date for handover and project close-out processes.
- Promote best practice and compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies in all plumbing engineering activities.
- Liaise with clients, authorities, and third-party inspectors to facilitate necessary approvals and certifications related to plumbing works.
- Thorough understanding of plumbing system design principles, water distribution, soil and waste management, and associated infrastructure.
- Proficiency in reading and preparing technical drawings, hydraulic calculations, and detailed specifications for plumbing works.
- Strong knowledge of relevant plumbing and civil engineering codes, standards, and legislation (such as BS EN, CIBSE, or regional building regulations).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with construction managers, engineers, consultants, and site teams.
- Analytical problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing construction and installation challenges.
- Well organised, capable of managing multiple priorities and maintaining thorough site records and documentation.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to project quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on plumbing systems.
- At least3 years of relevant experience in plumbing engineering within civil construction projects, infrastructure works, or large-scale developments.
- Strong familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar design software and proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience in both site supervision and office-based design is preferred.
- Valid membership of professional engineering institutions or registration with an engineering council is desirable but not essential.
