Plumbing Project Engineer

A well-established commercial plumbing contractor serving the Fort Worth, Texas area is seeking a highly organized and proactive Plumbing Project Engineer to support the execution and administration of commercial construction projects. This role serves as a vital link between project management, field operations, vendors, and subcontractors, helping ensure projects progress efficiently, remain compliant with project requirements, and are completed on schedule.

The ideal candidate is a detail-driven professional who excels in a fast-paced construction environment and can effectively balance technical, administrative, and coordination responsibilities across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with project coordination and administrative activities throughout all phases of commercial plumbing construction projects.
  • Prepare, track, and maintain project documentation, including submittals, approvals, permits, and other project records.
  • Manage RFI processes by monitoring status, coordinating responses, and distributing information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain current drawing sets, specifications, and construction documents while ensuring proper revision control procedures are followed.
  • Organize and manage project records to support both office personnel and field operations.
  • Support quality assurance initiatives and assist with maintaining project safety documentation and compliance records.
  • Coordinate procurement activities by tracking material purchases, delivery schedules, inventory levels, and supplier communications.
  • Provide ongoing support to Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to help maintain project momentum and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor project schedules and assist with planning efforts to ensure key milestones and completion dates are achieved.
  • Track change orders, time-and-material documentation, field revisions, and other project-related modifications.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, project progress tracking, and general administrative support functions.
  • Utilize Procore, ShareFile, Egnyte, Microsoft Office, and related platforms to manage project workflows and documentation.
  • Support project closeout efforts, including punch-list management, testing records, commissioning documentation, and turnover packages.
  • Serve as a liaison between vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and internal project teams to facilitate communication and issue resolution.

QualificationsTechnical & Industry Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of construction project coordination, project administration, and document management procedures.
  • Experience managing submittals, RFIs, schedules, and electronic document control systems.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with commercial plumbing systems, mechanical construction, and general building practices.
  • Experience supporting construction project teams within commercial or industrial environments is preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and document management software.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in project documentation.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven construction environment.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Education & Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting commercial plumbing, mechanical contracting, or commercial construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience collaborating with Project Managers, Superintendents, field personnel, and construction operations teams is considered a strong advantage.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are beneficial but not required.
