The Monarch San Antonio - A Legacy of Service and Sophistication

The Monarch San Antonio, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 200-room, 17-story boutique hotel located in the Hemisfair District of downtown San Antonio. It is set to open in early 2026 and is inspired by the Monarch butterfly that migrates through the region each winter. The hotel will feature a full-service spa, a terrace pool, and five food and beverage concepts, including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

Position Overview

The Host at Aleteo Rooftop Restaurant is responsible for creating a warm, energetic, and polished first impression for all guests. This role manages guest arrival, reservations, and seating flow while supporting the lively rooftop atmosphere and maintaining elevated service standards. The Host plays a critical role in pacing, guest satisfaction, and overall dining room flow.

Essential Functions

Guest Reception and Seating

  • Greet guests promptly with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
  • Manage reservations, walk in guests, and waitlists according to service standards.
  • Escort guests to tables and provide menus with polished presentation.
  • Communicate wait times accurately and manage guest expectations.

Dining Room Flow and Coordination

  • Coordinate seating with servers, bartenders, and management to maintain balanced service flow.
  • Monitor table status and pacing throughout service.
  • Support special seating requests and guest accommodations when possible.
  • Communicate guest notes, celebrations, and preferences to service teams.

Guest Experience

  • Serve as the first point of contact and a visible ambassador of the Aleteo brand.
  • Respond to guest questions and requests with professionalism and energy.
  • Assist in resolving guest concerns and escalate issues to management as appropriate.
  • Maintain a confident, upbeat presence during peak periods.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area.
  • Handle phone calls, reservations, and guest communications accurately.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures and complete assigned side work.
  • Support special events, private dining, and high volume service periods.

Teamwork and Professionalism

  • Work collaboratively with service, bar, and culinary teams.
  • Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Accept coaching and feedback to support continuous improvement.

Compliance and Safety

  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Adhere to company policies and brand standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized entry area.

Other Duties

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by restaurant leadership.
  • Maintain availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Previous host or guest facing hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Food and Alcohol Service Certifications required or ability to obtain.
