Position Summary:
The Preventive Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine and scheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems used in the production of personal care products. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced, GMP-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct preventive maintenance on production machinery including mixers, fillers, conveyors, packaging equipment, and HVAC systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, GMP, and company policies.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and support root cause analysis.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance, preferably in personal care, food, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with GMP, OSHA, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and CMMS software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to chemicals.
