PMV Engineer (Plant, Machinery, and Vehicle) for SOMALIA

Location:

Mogadishu, Somalia secure zone

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and supervise maintenance of construction plant, machinery, and vehicles.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of PMV Supervisors and Fleet Managers.
• Ensure optimal utilization, availability, and performance of all PMV assets.
• Monitor and control all operational activities of the MHE workshop, including repairs, servicing, and overhauls.
• Monitor usage, deployment, and productivity of MHE, plant, and vehicles across project sites.
• Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Inspect machinery and vehicles to ensure safety, compliance, and operational readiness.
• Maintain PMV maintenance records, service logs, workshop reports, and asset registers.
• Coordinate with procurement for spare parts, consumables, and service contracts.
• Monitor fuel usage, maintenance costs, spare parts consumption, and equipment efficiency.
• Support site teams by allocating appropriate equipment as per project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards related to plant, machinery, vehicles, and workshop operations.
• Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years’ experience as a PMV / Plant / Equipment Engineer in construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, construction machinery, and fleet management.
• Experience in preventive maintenance planning and breakdown analysis.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, maintenance schedules, and technical reports.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and maintenance management systems.
• Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
