Podcast Editor

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Podcast Editor to join our media team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for editing podcast episodes to ensure high-quality audio and video content that aligns with our brand standards. This role requires strong editing, proofreading, and research skills, along with excellent communication and writing abilities. The Podcast Editor will play a vital role in shaping engaging audio content for our audience, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism in every episode.

Duties

• Edit raw audio and video recordings to produce polished podcast episodes, including trimming, sound balancing, and adding music or sound effects as needed
• Proofread scripts and transcripts for accuracy and consistency
• Conduct fact-checking and research to verify information presented in episodes
• Apply copy editing techniques following AP style or Chicago Manual of Style guidelines
• Collaborate with hosts and producers to ensure content aligns with editorial standards and creative vision
• Write show notes, episode summaries, and promotional copy that are engaging and accurate
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Maintain organized files of audio assets, scripts, and editing notes
• Assist with proposal writing for new podcast ideas or sponsorship opportunities

Experience

• Proven experience in editing audio and video content for podcasts or similar media platforms
• Strong proofreading, copy editing, and editing skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Proficiency in word processing software and audio editing tools (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity)
• Knowledge of AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, or other editorial standards preferred
• Experience in journalism, technical writing, creative writing, or copywriting is a plus
• Ability to conduct research effectively and verify factual information accurately
• Familiarity with proposal writing and project management is advantageous

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $22.51 - $27.11 per hour
