Responsibilities
- Assist podiatrists during patient examinations by documenting clinical notes accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensuring all relevant information is captured efficiently.
- Prepare patients for appointments by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and collecting pertinent health information.
- Support clinical procedures such as wound care, medication administration, X-ray preparation, and basic diagnostic testing within outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Manage patient intake processes, including verifying insurance information, updating medical records, and explaining treatment plans clearly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, including exam rooms and equipment sterilization in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and assisting with ICD coding for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine, and other specialties to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or familiarity with dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is preferred to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
- Demonstrated ability to support patient service activities such as intake procedures and vital sign collection with professionalism and empathy.
- Experience working within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and familiarity with hospital or Level I/II trauma center environments is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced settings like hospital inpatient units or outpatient clinics across diverse specialties including podiatry, orthopedics, or internal medicine. Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
