EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position supports emergency and non-emergency public safety operations by managing incoming calls and coordinating responses. As a Police Communications Operator, you will perform the following duties: Call Handling: Receive and assess emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and 911 centersInformation Relay: Dispatch details to Troopers and notify outside agencies when neededRecord Management: Access and update electronic systems to track incidents and research informationField Support: Monitor Trooper locations and communicate important updates during active eventsPublic Assistance: Respond to administrative questions and help visitors who come to the stationTraining Participation: Attend required training and help instruct new staff in communications proceduresInterested in learning more?
