The mission of the City of Dublin's Police Internship Program is to create an opportunity for individuals interested in a career in law enforcement, public safety and/or criminal justice to gain relevant experience while working side-by-side with industry professionals. This program will assist the successful candidate in their academic pursuits through training and career development to prepare them to join the work force.
The goal of the Police Internship is for the Intern to learn about the City of Dublin Police Department and how it operates in terms of administration, investigations and patrol. Tasks may be assigned to the Intern at the discretion of the Operations Bureau Commander, Internship Sergeant, or other department supervisor and may be selected based on the interests of the Intern. It is the Intern's responsibility to take ownership of the tasks and complete them with a focus on quality. Below are examples of tasks that may be covered by the Intern and Mentor:

As permitted by law and in accordance with City Policy, new hires must pass a pre-employment drug test before appointment to any City position.
