Compensation & Benefits

The Dagsboro Police Department offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package:

Salary

  • Non-Certified Officers: $60,000 during training and upon successful completion of academy training
  • Certified Officers: Salary based on qualifications and years of service (up to $71,614)

  • Facial hair and tattoos permitted in accordance with department policy

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • At least 21 years of age by completion of the police academy
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked, canceled, or disqualified)
  • Strong work ethic, sound judgment, and good moral character
  • Vision requirements:
  • Uncorrected vision no worse than 20/200 in each eye
  • Correctable to 20/20 in each eye
  • Ability to distinguish red, green, and amber

  • Physical fitness test
  • Written examination
  • Panel interview
  • Comprehensive background investigation
  • Pre-employment physical
  • Drug screening
  • Psychological evaluation
