Duties

You will perform and lead a full range of police operation duties to protect the facilities, perimeters, materials, equipment, personnel and information.

You will participate on emergency response teams and responds and mitigate incidents that threaten highly sensitive National Security interests.

You will prepare law enforcement related reports and forms, and other correspondence as necessary.

You will provide assistance to the shift supervisor in the planning and direction of assigned uniformed police officers engaged in day-to-day operations at Agency facilities.

You will be responsible for liaison and support to Federal, state, and local Agency regulations; manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to law enforcement and security/requirements and disciplines.

You will maintain law enforcement and safety certifications.

Must pass all annual sustainment and use of force training.

Must be physically able and skilled in handling of small arms to qualify with pistol, shotgun, and rifle annually.

Must pass pre-hire, initial, and annual medical, physical, and agility testing and requirements as directed by the command.

Must pass annual CPR and first aid certification course.

Must be mentally stable, have color vision and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

Must possess a valid driver's license and must obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.

This position is considered Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as:

Monitoring and patrolling perimeters (e.g., on foot or motor vehicle) to prevent unauthorized access.

Identifying traffic or personnel by performing access control duties (e.g. inspect identification cards, badges, and vehicle decals).

Apprehending or detaining suspects violating laws and regulations.
-
Conducting criminal and security investigations in accordance with Federal and State laws and applicable regulations.

Additional information
Upon appointment or within permitted scheduling must graduate from a Federal law enforcement training center (FLETC) or from a Navy-accepted law enforcement Police Academy.
You will be required to sign a continuing Service Agreement (CSA) prior to completion of the required Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP).
Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP) is a condition of employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. Agreement to continue - CSA, Agency requires 36 months of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntarily complete the length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse the agency for fees, such as the tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training.
Physical Agility Test (PAT): Qualified applicants must pass a pre-hire PAT and are required to pass annually. This test will be used to screen qualified applicants for entry-level Police Officer positions.
All Police Officers will be required to meet the following minimum physical agility test standards pre-hire and annually:

Run 1.5 miles in 17:30 minutes

Execute 19 push-ups in two minutes
This position is covered under the Lautenberg Amendment.
Certain incentives (such as recruitment/relocation) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
This position is considered a uniformed, Key Emergency Essential position.
This position requires day, evening, and midnight shifts.
Duties include prolonged standing, walking, and light lifting.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
