Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls, incidents, and community concerns, providing effective law enforcement intervention.
  • Conduct thorough criminal investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and documenting findings accurately through detailed report writing.
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to deter crime, monitor public safety, and assist community members as needed.
  • Enforce traffic laws by conducting traffic stops, issuing citations, and managing accident scenes with professionalism.
  • Utilize surveillance techniques and technology to monitor suspicious activity or criminal behavior effectively.

Requirements

  • Prior experience or training in law enforcement, security, military service, or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, walking long distances, and driving under various conditions.
  • Strong report writing skills with attention to detail for documenting incidents accurately and thoroughly.
  • Knowledge of criminal investigation procedures, immigration law, loss prevention strategies, and conflict management techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team during high-pressure situations.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in driving patrol vehicles is advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Eligible for Wisconsin LESB certification
  • Currently certified or academy-enrolled preferred
  • Non-certified applicants will be considered
  • No felony or domestic abuse convictions
  • Legally able to possess a firearm
  • High school diploma required (60 college credits/Associate’s preferred)

Pay: $70,428.00 - $90,355.00 per year
