Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Policy Research and Advocacy Officer to lead critical research and policy analysis across child protection areas including child trafficking, child sexual abuse (offline and online), and child marriage. This role involves drafting policy briefs, engaging with lawmakers, and shaping strategies to strengthen protection systems. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to transformative change and meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and write policy briefs, reports, and submissions (including UN submissions, legal evidence, guides).
- Provide policy and legal advice on legislation, judgments, and legal cases.
- Engage with parliamentarians, ministries, and other key stakeholders.
- Present evidence in meetings and committees as required.
- Support internal monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes.
- Draft reports, position papers, and advocacy notes for diverse audiences.
- Track policy developments, legislative changes, and international best practices.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, Law, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in policy, advocacy, or law.
- Demonstrated experience influencing legislation or policy making nationally/internationally (essential).
- Experience with public interest litigation or child marriage law (desirable).
- Proven track record in research, policy analysis, and advocacy.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of issues related to child marriage, child trafficking, child sexual exploitation, and children’s rights.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to advocate for social change and influence policy makers.
- Good project management and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Contract Details
- Offered as a 1-year rolling contract, subject to a 6-month probation period.
