Political Photojournalist

WBFF/WNUV is looking for a full-time Political Photographer with a passion for local/national government coverage! The candidate should have 1 year of ENG experience with a network affiliate news organization. Day to day, you will cover local Baltimore City and Maryland politics, as well as in-depth investigative assignments. Covering the 90-day legislative session will also be a requirement. WBFF is shooting full high definition (HD) on media cards and editing on desktops and laptops utilizing the Adobe suite. You should have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, a strong understanding of creating text-on-screen graphics and document manipulation, possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude. A keen understanding of editing vertical videos and social media posts is a plus. A strong interest to grow in the world of political reporting is absolutely essential in this position.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • At least (1) year of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photography equipment

  • Team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines

  • Must have valid driver's license, good driving record and be able to operate ENG news vehicles

  • Ability to edit and shoot general assignment stories, lives shots and natural sound packages

  • Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis

  • Ability to do sit-down interviews with multiple cameras including secondary gear like DSLRs, Osmo/GoPro, and phone

The hourly compensation range for this role is $23.08 to $28.25. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
