Poltrona Frau is seeking a refined, design-led professional to join our Washington DC showroom in a hybrid role that blends
Inside Sales, and Interior Architecture/Design. This position is ideal for someone who pairs commercial acumen with a strong aesthetic sensibility—able to guide clients from inspiration to specification, while cultivating long-term relationships within the A+D community.
As an
Interior Architect/Designer, you will work with colleagues and private clients and dealers across luxury residential and select commercial projects, translating lifestyle and brand narratives into thoughtful, impeccably detailed interiors. As a business driver, you will grow opportunities, build a robust pipeline, and act as a local brand ambassador for Poltrona Frau. When needed, this role will also provide on-floor coverage to support the showroom team and ensure an exceptional client experience.
This role reports directly to the Showroom Manager.
Main Activities
Design Leadership & Project Development- Lead design conversations from concept to specification, shaping complete solutions that reflect Poltrona Frau’s heritage, craftsmanship, and modern sophistication
- Develop project narratives and presentations (concepts, space planning, furniture plans, finish/material palettes, and product specifications) for residential and commercial spaces
- Serve as a trusted design partner to private clients and dealer partners, supporting full-scope projects and multi-room environments
- Collaborate with external stakeholders—architects, interior designers, developers, and project teams—to ensure design intent, technical alignment, and project continuity
- Curate cohesive proposals that balance aesthetics, performance, timelines, and investment—bringing clarity and confidence to client decisions
Sales & Client Experience- Deliver a high-touch showroom experience aligned with luxury standards—welcoming clients, and guiding choices with discretion and expertise
- Executing sales efforts provide excellent client services & sales results as per showroom target
- Build and expand relationships within the A+D community; generate new opportunities while nurturing existing accounts and repeat business
- Manage a project pipeline with discipline and elegance—quotes, revisions, follow-ups, and documentation—ensuring responsiveness and an exceptional client journey
- Represent Poltrona Frau locally as a brand ambassador at showroom appointments, presentations, and targeted events
- Provide showroom floor coverage as needed, supporting walk-in clients, peak periods, appointments, and overall team continuity
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or Industrial Design
- 5+ years of experience in high-end furniture, luxury interiors, or A+D-facing sales environments, with demonstrated project involvement
- A strong portfolio showing space planning, concept development, material sensibility, and the ability to translate design into executable specifications
Technical and Soft skills- Confidence presenting to discerning clients and design professionals, with a consultative, relationship-first approach
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects with precision and grace
- Strong digital fluency (Microsoft Office required; familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe, etc)
- Well-connected within the Washington A+D community

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $65,000–$85,000 + commissions
