Description
We are currently seeking exceptional candidates to join our faculty in the Physical Sciences and Engineering (PSE) Division to lead pioneering research in polymer chemistry, particularly in the design/synthesis and characterization of well-defined polymers with diverse macromolecular architectures.
Ideal candidates should demonstrate a readiness to address these topics through a multi-disciplinary approach and to engage with different programs and research initiatives across the university’s divisions.
Furthermore, we expect research proposals to align closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and to contribute significantly to the objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030. This alignment should be explicitly demonstrated by emphasizing one or more of KAUST's Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) priorities, which include:

The PSE Division comprises seven Degree Programs: Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Earth Science and Engineering, Energy Resources and Petroleum Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. These disciplines provide the foundation for Division's quest to address some of the major challenges that we face in the world today, including those related to energy and the environment. Qualifications
- A relevant Ph.D. degree in polymer-related chemistry or engineering required.
- Demonstrated track record in managing rigorous research projects and publishing impactful papers.
Teaching and Service Responsibilities
- Commitment to delivering original and high-quality graduate-level teaching.
- Active involvement in service to KAUST across all aspects of academic life.

- A cover letter introducing your candidacy, explicitly stating the position and rank (Assistant, Associate, Full) being applied for. Preference will be given to Assistant and Associate professor ranks, consistent with candidate experience.
- An up-to-date curriculum vitae including a full publication list.
- Statement of research interests, balancing strong basic science with alignment to KAUST's strategy for accelerating impact and Saudi Arabia's national RDI priorities.
- Statement of teaching interests.
- List of at least six potential referees' names, affiliations, and contact details.
- Copies of the most relevant publications (up to five).
- Two citation reports (Web of Science and Scopus).
