The
Polysomnographer
performs routine and advanced
sleep diagnostic procedures
and therapeutic interventions for patients undergoing sleep studies.
The role involves conducting
polysomnographic testing
, analyzing diagnostic data, supporting treatment plans, and maintaining departmental documentation and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
-
Perform routine and complex polysomnographic studies, including MSLT and MWT testing

Collect, analyze, and compile sleep study diagnostic data
-
Apply appropriate therapeutic modalities based on patient condition

Score sleep studies and prepare diagnostic reports
-
Maintain electronic and paper patient records
-
Schedule patient sleep studies and coordinate testing logistics
-
Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Troubleshoot and maintain sleep lab equipment and EMU devices

Assist with database management and departmental documentation
Required Qualifications
-
Education that meets certification/licensure requirements
-
Oregon Polysomnographic Technologist License (upon hire) OR
-
Oregon Polysomnographic Technologist / Respiratory Therapist License
AND one of the following:
-
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists
-
Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists
Additional Requirement: BLS Certification - American Heart Association
Preferred Experience

Experience performing sleep diagnostic procedures in clinical sleep labs

Knowledge of sleep disorder diagnostic protocols

Experience with sleep study scoring and interpretation
