Compensation: $18 to $22 Per stop

Mako’s Pool and Scuba is currently seeking EXPERIENCED (minimum one year of pool and filter cleaning experience) individuals who are extremely self-motivated, strong work ethic, and very detail-oriented to run a pool route. As a Pool Route Technician, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional on-site pool cleaning and regular maintenance of pools. A truck will be provided (after training) fully stocked with the necessary chemicals and equipment to allow you to maintain and service the many different types of pools, spas & hot tubs that will be on route. Mako’s prides itself on being a veteran owned and operated company for over 6 years that services many surrounding cities and counties to Atlanta.

A Swimming Pool Route Technician must have a professional appearance & exceptional customer service with the integrity to handle a variety of customer's expectations with a smile on their face and a "yes ma'am or yes sir."

*Starting pay is based on EXPERIENCED & PERFORMANCE LEVEL of Pool route technicians. *

Other responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Perform weekly pool cleaning and maintenance
  • Test water and administer proper chemicals to maintain water chemical balance
  • Brushing & Netting/Skimming
  • Empty baskets & cleaner bag
  • Backwash filter tank as needed
  • Clean filters & perform minor repairs
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Accurately record all activities and report pool issues & repairs to supervisors as well as customer
  • Must be able to handle a full workload in the unforgiving Georgia weather - year-round

  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds
  • Must be able to pass a drug test as well as random testing
  • Must be able to pass a background check as you are on customers private property. Our customers property and safety are of utmost importance to Mako’s.
  • Ability to work a smartphone and navigate through pool software
  • Certified Pool Operator – CPO - license is preferred but not mandatory but have the ability to obtain this license. We can provide after a year of service.
  • Starting salary is based upon experience.
  • Must be able to keep an inventory of supplies in their truck

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Pool Maintenance Technician to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and optimal operation of clients' swimming pools. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and providing exceptional service to homeowners. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, experience with pool systems, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Minimum 1 year verifiable experience as a pool maintenance technician required. Do not apply if you can't pass a chemical proficiency test.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular pool cleaning, including skimming, vacuuming, and brushing surfaces
  • Test and adjust water chemistry to ensure proper chemical levels and sanitation
  • Inspect and maintain pool equipment such as pumps, filters, heaters, and chlorinators
  • Perform minor repairs and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using hand tools and power tools
  • Maintain detailed service records of maintenance activities and repairs
  • Identify potential issues early and recommend appropriate solutions to clients
  • Follow safety protocols during all maintenance procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Experience

  • Prior experience in pool maintenance is required! No exceptions! Must be able to pass a chemical proficiency test in the interview process.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to pool equipment repair and troubleshooting is highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with pool cleaning techniques and chemical balancing
  • Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools for equipment repair and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of maintenance procedures for residential pools
  • Ability to work independently while managing route efficiently

Must have a valid GA drivers license and a clean driving record

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Must have one year of verifiable residential pool maintenance and water chemistry experience
