Sonoma State University’s beautiful 274-acre campus is located in Sonoma County wine country, an hour north of San Francisco. Having surpassed our 50th year of educating nurses in this community, we are proud to be acknowledged in the top 10 Nursing programs in the country. The School offers a variety of campus-based programs, fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the California State Board of Registered Nursing (BRN). These include a traditional pre-licensure BSN, post-licensure BSN, and MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner, requiring a full spectrum of teaching content and expertise across multiple modalities. We are in the process of developing a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Students are educated to practice in a variety of settings, including community health agencies, advanced practice settings, and acute care settings, with a focus on underserved communities. Active community partnerships support consistent clinical rotation sites for students and offer additional service-learning opportunities, yielding mutually beneficial experiences for agency, student, and faculty. Full-time is a 15-unit workload per semester. Actual salary is dependent upon the number of units assigned, educational preparation, and availability of funds subject to any CSU system faculty contract salary increases.

Annual Reports & Safety Information
Sonoma State University's Annual Security Report includes summaries of institutional policy relating to campus safety, drug and alcohol use, sexual assault, and other matters. The report is published in compliance with the Clery Act and includes three years of certain crime statistics that occurred in Clery Act defined geography.
