POOL TECHNICIANS

Reports To: Senior Swimming Pool Technician / M&P Supervisor

Job Summary

The Swimming Pool Technician is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and safety of swimming pools, spas, and related water features. The role ensures that all pools are maintained in clean, safe, and hygienic condition in compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain water quality and ensure all pool and related equipment operate at the highest standard
• Clean and maintain swimming pools, spas, and water features on a regular basis
• Test and monitor water chemistry and maintain chemical levels in accordance with WHO standards, both manually and through automated systems
• Monitor and adjust pH and alkalinity levels as required
• Inspect, operate, and perform minor repairs on pool systems including pumps, filters, heaters, chillers, chlorinators, and electrical components
• Vacuum pools, skim debris, brush walls, and clean tiles to maintain hygiene standards
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in pool systems
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Provide basic guidance to pool users when required
• Ensure proper storage and availability of maintenance materials and chemicals
• Report equipment malfunctions or major issues to supervisors or engineers
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records

Skills & Competencies

• Good English communication skills
• Proven experience as a swimming pool and water features technician
• Strong knowledge of pool systems, water chemistry, and maintenance procedures
• Ability to safely handle chemicals and maintenance equipment
• Physical fitness to perform outdoor and manual work, including lifting equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills and teamwork ability
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in swimming pool maintenance from a recognized vocational institute
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in indoor and outdoor swimming pool maintenance in hotels, resorts, or residential/commercial complexes
• Preferred age: below 30 years
