Portfolio Analyst II - IT

IT Portfolio Analysts are responsible to track, analyze, and create highly-effective artifacts and reports on IT projects, programs, and portfolios. Responsible to support resource planning, project scheduling, and other project management activities. Will also manage the use and administration of the organization’s project and portfolio management platform.

This is an on-site position located in Springfield, MO.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Advise IT supervisors and managers on configuring project, resource, and portfolio data
  • Onboard and train team members on best practices within the project and portfolio management platform
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project and portfolio data, analysis, documentation and reports
  • Coordinate schedule planning and timeline creation
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies within the portfolio
  • Manage the project lifecycle governance process, including stage gates, and ensure that all stage gate criteria have been met
  • Plan and facilitate processes to accomplish IT resource capacity allocation and reporting
  • Administer the organization’s project and portfolio management platform, including determining processes, workflow design, and facilitating end-user training
  • Provide support to IT portfolio management activities, including ensuring that projects and activities identified in the strategic plan are mapped correctly to the IT portfolio
  • Develop processes for analyzing and reporting on the IT Project Portfolio
  • Support portfolio reviews with senior business leaders and IT leaders
  • Design and facilitate processes to evaluate the costs and value associated with the overall IT Project Portfolio spend
  • Generate reports for Finance on labor and project financial spend
  • Maintain IT department Activity Codes for financial tracking
  • Work closely with system administrators to maintain data integrity and integrations with the project and portfolio management software
  • Manage upgrade schedule and acceptance testing for the project and portfolio management software
  • All other duties as assigned

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7 years’ experience in a similar role (within a large professional corporate environment)
  • Experience with IT Project and Portfolio management concepts and practices
  • Experience using project management and project scheduling software
  • Excellent planning, execution, written and verbal communication, and escalation skills
  • Organizational skills with acute attention to detail
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)

Desired:

  • Experience with stakeholder and financial management
  • Experience working with multiple teams concurrently
  • Experience developing communications and reporting for senior leadership
  • Corporate business experience
  • Experience working within Atlassian Products including Jira, Tempo, and Confluence.
  • Experience with Domo, PowerBI or similar reporting tool
  • Experience with agile and project management processes, techniques and tools, and solution development lifecycles
