Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Portfolio Implementation, the Portfolio Implementation Analyst (“Analyst”) will work closely with all members of the Portfolio Implementation team to support department responsibilities, including internal analysis, trade list and portfolio review, reporting, portfolio construction, parameterization, and optimization across the model-to-trade lifecycle. The successful candidate will play an increasingly important role in streamlining foundational processes, workflows, systems, and applications that underpin functional implementation and data analysis.

This role offers exposure to most aspects of an institutional money management firm. In addition to Portfolio Implementation, the position will intersect with Research, Portfolio Management, Trading, Operations, Compliance, and Information Technology, contributing to both standard duties and ad hoc projects. The Analyst will serve as a key support resource to the broader Portfolio Implementation team and is expected to contribute to organizational operational efficiency with the fundamental objective of improving alpha capture in client portfolios.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of the Portfolio Implementation function, developing a thorough understanding of foundational portfolio activities, rebalance workflows, and the systems and applications that support them.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on trade list optimization for regular program and objective-based rebalances, including preparation of relevant inputs for the optimization process. Assist in evaluating and proposing enhancements to implementation parameters and constraints to more effectively capture model signals in client portfolios.
  • Assist in reviewing, maintaining, and monitoring client guidelines to ensure portfolios remain in compliance with account-specific objectives and restrictions.
  • Perform ad hoc portfolio analysis to provide insights related to expected implementation objectives and outcomes, including assessments of signal exposure, transfer coefficients, and constraint impacts.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal reporting metrics and dashboards that enhance visibility into rebalancing activity, cash flow decision-making, and implementation outcomes across normal and varying market environments.
  • Identify opportunities to adapt workflows in an operationally efficient manner, contributing to the ongoing systematization of implementation decisions and the integration of implementation strategies across portfolios and products.
  • Assist in evaluating and automating decision criteria underlying recommended changes to portfolio parameters, both on an ad hoc basis and as part of regular rebalance activities.
  • Participate in quality assurance for new technology resources, systems, and tools used within the Portfolio Implementation group, including assessment of optimizer solutions, portfolio management systems, and data platforms.
  • Support the integration of relevant data inputs, including corporate actions, liquidity considerations, and event risks, into daily and rebalance-related workflows.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects with Research, Portfolio Management, Trading, Operations, Compliance, and Information Technology as directed.
  • The nature of portfolio implementation in global financial markets requires availability beyond standard office hours. The Analyst is expected to contribute outside of normal business hours on a regular basis or as needed in response to events that may require prompt action or coordination.
