JOB DESCRIPTION: Technology Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated skill in computer hardware and software
Demonstrated skill in Thin Client installations
Demonstrated skill in operating systems
Good communication skills
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience (5+ years in the field)
REPORTS TO: System Technology Coordinator
JOB GOAL: To provide assistance in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the computers, networks, Thin Clients, and other technology throughout the Colbert County School System
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preventive maintenance on computers, network equipment, software, and peripherals
Repair and install computers, network equipment, cabling, software, and peripherals
Maintain current knowledge of all instructional technology used in the school system
Aid teachers and administrators in the proper operation of computer-based equipment
Provide hardware and software training for school staff
Maintain work orders and job-related documentation
Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, administrators, and others
Ensure adherence to good safety standards
Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to the assignment
Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the higher authority
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms of employment shall be consistent with the law relating to employment by a school system in the State of Alabama. Twelve-month year, with a salary scale established by the Board for this position.
EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
