Post Doctoral Associate

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Post Doctoral Associate to work in the Secure Systems Laboratory under Professor Justin Cappos.

The CSE department conducts ongoing research programs in a wide range of areas related to computer science theory, cyber security, analysis, visualization data, computer games, and internet and web research.

Candidates will be responsible for performing cutting edge cyber security research with a goal of transitioning work products into wide-spread production use. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in systems security, virtualization, software engineering research, formal verification or related fields as is exemplified by a strong publication record and/or prior deployments of software. Previous experience contributing to real world software is desired but not required.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is 85-110K depending on the candidate’s experience and qualification.

Expected start date is January 5th, 2026. This position is expected to be for 12 months but may be renewed given funding and performance.

Candidates should have a PhD in computer science or a related field. We welcome applicants with recent PhDs and individuals seeking additional postdoctoral training. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
