Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Science (Computer Science) - Dr. Talal Rahwan

The Data Science & AI research lab at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking postdocs who are passionate about any or all of the following: Data Science, Computational Social Science, Behavioral Economics, Human-Bot interaction, Experimental Research, Game Theory, and Artificial Intelligence. Some of the research topics that excite us as a group include: (i) Ethics of AI and Automation; (ii) Social Media Analysis (iii) Algorithmic Privacy, (iv) Analysis of Academic Collaborations, (v) Human-Bot interaction, (vi) Network Science.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and hard-working with a PhD in one of the following: Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Social Science, Information Science, Statistical Physics, or any other related field. The skills that we are looking for include:

• Statistical analysis & causal inference
• Data management, collection & visualization
• Social network analysis & graph theory
• Online tool/web development
• Running controlled experiments
• Game-theoretic modelling

Excellent communication skills in English, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential, since the research projects conducted by Dr. Rahwan are inherently collaborative and involve scientists with diverse backgrounds.

The position provides a salary higher than internationally competitive rates for postdoctoral positions, in addition to substantial benefits (generous housing, transportation and travel allowances, and educational subsidies for children), together with full health insurance and retirement contributions. The UAE does not levy income tax.
