A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Simon Chong Chu at The Wistar Institute. The Chu Lab develops and applies innovative computational methods for genome sequencing data to advance our understanding of human health and disease (e.g., cancer and neurodegenerative disorders), with a current focus on genomic repeats; including transposable elements, tandem repeats, and large satellite repeats.
An ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in computational biology/bioinformatics/computer science/statistics or another quantitative field, as well as excellent programming and communication skills. Experience in analysis of genomic sequencing data is highly desirable. Experience with genomic repeats and/or immunology is a strong plus but not required.
