We are seeking talented postdoctoral researchers with expertise in advanced battery technologies with strong translational and commercialization potential. The project focuses on next-generation batteries in three parallel research directions: extreme-temperature (high- or low-temperature) batteries, lithium- and/or sodium-based batteries, and solid-state batteries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experimental plans to develop and optimize next-generation battery materials, electrolytes, and full cells.
- Perform advanced electrochemical testing and diagnostics (e.g., galvanostatic cycling, rate capability, EIS, CV, GITT/PITT as needed) and interpret results to identify failure mechanisms.
- Conduct materials and interfacial characterization using appropriate techniques (e.g., XRD, SEM/TEM, XPS, Raman/FTIR, DSC/TGA), and correlate structure–property–performance relationships.
- Develop robust, reproducible protocols for cell fabrication (especially pouch where applicable), quality control, and data management.
- Prepare technical reports, manuscripts, and conference presentations; contribute to proposal writing and project documentation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and mentor students; maintain excellent lab safety and documentation practices.
Compensation Package:
- Competitive, tax-free salary
- Free on-campus housing
- Comprehensive health insurance
- 22 days of annual vacation
- Additional benefits
