Postdoctoral Associate, Fiete Lab

Posting Description

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, McGovern Institute for Brain Research and Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, to develop computational circuit models, analytical theory, and data analysis methods to study biological memory circuits and their applications to machine learning. Building on recent work from the Fiete Lab, the role focuses on identifying principles of biological intelligence through neural circuit modeling. The candidate will collaborate with researchers studying memory circuits through physiological experiments and large-scale brain datasets. The position offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, publications, conference presentations, and participation in lab meetings and mentorship.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: A PhD in neuroscience, physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field; excellent communication and teamwork skills; attention to detail; excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, documentation, communication, and time-management skills; self-motivation and ability to work independently; and ability to work as part of a tightly-knit team. PREFERRED: Experience with theoretical analysis, using and building machine learning models, and developing circuit models.
