The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow to explore neural circuits involved in motivation and emotion.
Using cutting-edge research techniques such as optogenetics, chemogenetics, electrophysiology, and fiber-photometry and two-photon microscopy Ca2+-imaging in transgenic mice, the successful candidate will contribute to understanding how neural populations interact to regulate emotional behaviors in response to novelty, addictive substances, food, and aversive stimuli. The lab provides an opportunity to establish collaborations and interactions between pre-, post-doctoral fellows, neuroscientists, behavioral pharmacologists, and drug abuse experts.
