Postdoctoral Fellow - Glial Biology

Bethesda, United States

The Frakes Lab seeks a postdoctoral fellow to work in the field of glial biology. In the Frakes lab, we leverage the versatility of different model systems (C. elegans and mice) to reveal the mechanisms glial cells employ to sense and respond to cellular stress. Our long-term goal is to identify the fundamental cellular mechanisms that drive aging and give rise to age-onset metabolic and neurodegenerative diseases. For more information visit our website.

About the position

  • Design and execute experiments using a combination of approaches including: genetics, advanced imaging, next-generation sequencing, behavioral assays, viral tools, and single-cell approaches.
  • Analyze data and present findings in internal and external forums including peer-reviewed publications.
