Position Highlights
The University of Arizona's Department of Geosciences invites you to apply to the role of Postdoctoral Research Associate I. We seek a postdoctoral researcher to conduct research at the Arizona LaserChron Center (ALC) in the Department of Geosciences. The post-doc will participate in all aspects of ALC research, including (1) assisting external researchers in acquiring data needed for their projects, (2) conducting independent research projects, (3) driving the development of new research methods and applications, and (4) participating in ALC education, training, and outreach activities. This is a year-to-year appointment contingent upon funding and performance. This position is expected to be funded for up to two years.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conducting independent research projects and preparing manuscripts for publication
  • Assisting ALC visiting researchers in acquiring data needed for their projects
  • Leading the development of new research methods and applications, and disseminating them in publications
  • Participating in ALC education, training, and outreach activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a doctorate degree completed in Geosciences before hire date.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree involving U-Pb geochronology and radiogenic isotope geochemistry.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with high-resolution mass spectrometry methods (e.g., TIMS, MC-ICPMS)/li>
