Position Highlights
The Arizona Cosmology Lab, a research unit of the University of Arizona (UA) Department of Astronomy and Steward Observatory (SO), invites applications for the Steward Observatory Prize Fellowship in Cosmological Data Analysis at the Postdoctoral Research Associate I level (multiple hires expected).

Fellows are expected to conduct independent research in cosmological data analysis with ongoing and future surveys, in particular SPHEREx, Simons Observatory, Rubin Observatory's LSST, Roman Space Telescope, and DESI. Applicants should outline their research plans to optimally extract cosmological information using one or multiple of these datasets. Priority will be given to candidates who can connect their science to SPHEREx, Simons Observatory, and LSST. Expertise in modeling cosmological observables through analytical methods or numerical simulations, machine learning, statistical inference, and data reduction is beneficial.

As members of the Arizona Cosmology Lab, fellows will be provided with priority access to UA and national supercomputing resources, close mentorship by experienced faculty, and opportunities to co-advise graduate students and mentor undergraduates. UA offers a world-class research environment in astrophysics with strong interdisciplinary programs across the Departments of Astronomy, Physics, Planetary Sciences, the UA Data Science Institute, UA Space Institute, and NSF's NOIRLab.

Start dates range from August to October 2026.

Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!

The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
Paper copies of the Reports can be obtained by contacting the University Compliance Office at cleryact@arizona.edu.
