Research topics of interest include large language models with applications to various science and engineering disciplines. This position is intended for new or recent Ph.D. in applied/computational mathematics, computational science, chemical engineering, or related disciplines.

Anticipated Salary: $61,010 - Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, including benefits.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Prepare and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at conferences.
Assist in the mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students, providing guidance on experimental techniques, data analysis, and project development.
Contribute to grant writing, including assisting in the development of proposals and identifying funding opportunities.
Participate in departmental seminars, workshops, and other events, engaging with the academic community.
Contribute to teaching responsibilities, including delivering lectures, leading lab sessions, and supporting curriculum development (subject to department needs and funding agency requirements).
Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a doctorate degree in Applied/Computational Mathematics, Computational Science, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines, completed by the start of the appointment.
Qualified candidates should have prior research and publications in related field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive research and teaching environment.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
Terms of Appointment:
This is a full-time, one-year position, with a potential 1-year extension based on performance and funding availability. The position will start on a mutually agreed-upon date.
