About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Power BI Developer to join our data and analytics team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain powerful BI dashboards and data models that drive decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and IT to transform raw data into actionable insights using Power BI, SQL, and ETL pipelines. Your focus will be not only on creating compelling visualizations, but also on building efficient and scalable data architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance interactive Power BI dashboards and reports based on stakeholder requirements.
• Build robust data models using Power BI (Star / Snowflake schemas, relationships, hierarchies) leveraging DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to define calculated columns, measures, and time intelligence functions. Abbacus Technologies -+2Arc+2
• Perform ETL processes using Power Query (M language) to clean, transform, and prepare data coming from multiple sources (SQL databases, Excel, cloud services, etc.). Wikipedia
• Query and aggregate data from SQL sources; write optimized SQL queries.
• Automate data refresh cycles, manage Power BI data gateways, and monitor dataset performance.
• Design and enforce data modeling best practices to ensure the BI solution is scalable, maintainable, and performant. Abbacus Technologies -
• Work closely with data engineers to architect and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and integrate with SSIS / SSRS where needed. inapp.com+1
• Optimize report performance by tuning data models, using incremental refresh, minimizing cardinality, and optimizing DAX expressions. Abbacus Technologies -
• Implement security at the data model level, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and workspace permissions. NeGD - National e-Governance Division
• Develop and maintain documentation: data flow diagrams, data model definitions, DAX measures, and report design guidelines.
• Stay current with Power BI platform updates, features, and best practices; recommend adoption of new capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience working in a BI / Analytics / Power BI developer role.
• Strong proficiency with Power BI Desktop, Power Query (M language), and Power BI Service.
• Expert-level knowledge of DAX for building complex calculations and business logic. Abbacus Technologies -
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and modeling.
• Deep understanding of data modeling concepts: star schema, snowflake schema, relationships, hierarchies. Abbacus Technologies -

• Hands-on experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) or knowledge of paginated reports (optional but helpful). pumex.com+1
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Data Factory, etc.) or other cloud-based BI environments.
• Strong data visualization skills with a good eye for UI/UX, KPI design, and user-friendly dashboards.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Good communication skills to work with stakeholders and data engineering teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with report automation and scheduling refreshes via Power BI gateways.
• Expertise implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) in Power BI.
• Proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, Power Pivot) for data modeling.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tools for BI deployment.
• Familiarity with data warehouse design, incremental data loads, and advanced data architecture.
• Knowledge of other Microsoft BI tools: SSAS, SSRS, or Azure Synapse Analytics.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹850,000.00 - ₹1,150,000.00 per year
