Role Overview
This is a senior-level, high-impact position responsible for enhancing power generation reliability, leading complex incident investigations, strengthening asset performance, and guiding long-term engineering strategy across the organisation's generation fleet.
You will shape critical operational and engineering decisions, influence strategic planning, and play a key role in improving system resilience, risk management, and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Planning & Design
- Lead strategic and tactical engineering solutions for complex power generation challenges.
- Advise on corporate fuel strategy, infrastructure planning, and long-term investment decisions.
- Conduct design reviews, start-up testing, inspections, and condition assessments.
- Develop and revise technical standards, specifications, and operational guidelines.
- Apply advanced modelling, forecasting, and risk-based decision-making frameworks.
Operations & Maintenance
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis (FMEA, Fault Tree, 5 Whys, etc.).
- Provide expert advice on efficient, safe, and reliable operation of generation facilities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams on load demand, outage planning, and system balancing.
- Deliver technical guidance across engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.
Performance & Excellence
- Drive performance improvement initiatives aligned with ISO 55001 and ISO 31000.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize fuel supply and service quality.
- Support renewable energy initiatives including wind and solar integration.
- Contribute to CSR and carbon-reduction programs to support long-term sustainability goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 15+ years' experience in power generation, incident investigation, and fault analysis.
- Strong background in risk management, maintenance strategy, and asset lifecycle planning.
- Knowledge of ISO 55001 (Asset Management) and ISO 31000 (Risk Management).
- Experience with dynamic modelling, system balancing, and long-term energy planning.
