UST is looking for Power & Performance Validation Engineer.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Power and Performance Engineer with a strong background in hardware/software integration and Windows system architecture. The ideal candidate will work on power measurement, profiling, and validation activities for system boards and firmware components. This role will involve hands-on lab work, debugging, report generation, and supporting board support package (BSP) integration and testing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Power and Performance Profiling Conduct power and performance profiling using power analyzers and other measurement tools.
- Prepare detailed power reports, identify power trends, and present findings clearly to cross-functional teams.
- Support battery life scenario testing and ensure systems are optimized for power efficiency.
- BSP Integration and Validation Support continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows for BSP builds.
- Perform component-level testing for coreboot, AMI UEFI, EC, PD, GOP, and GFW firmware components.
- Set up and validate BSP configurations (V0, V0J, ES, QS) and execute functional and sanity checks.
- Conduct QA functional validation and support S&S and Power Lab operations for internal and external BSP releases.
- Lab and Test Setup Build and maintain test setups and integrate new components for experimental builds.
- Perform automated sanity testing, issue triage, and debugging of hardware/software setup issues.
- Utilize tools such as SystemPulse to validate custom BSPs and verify readiness for power experiments.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of hardware/software system architecture and Windows OS internals. Hands-on experience with power measurement, test benches, and lab debugging.
- Proficient in preparing technical reports and visualizing power/performance data.
- Familiarity with issue tracking tools such as JIRA and strong documentation skills.
- Basic Python scripting/programming skills for automation and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using power analyzers, profiling tools, and performance indicators.
- Exposure to data visualization tools and dashboards for power and performance analysis.
- Prior experience supporting firmware, BIOS, or BSP development environments.
