Job Purpose
To ensure the continuous and safe supply of electrical power to all railway systems and infrastructure by performing fault diagnosis, maintenance, and monitoring of power supply equipment. The technician supports operational continuity by maintaining substations, transformers, UPS systems, and DC/AC equipment, while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Core Duties And Responsibilities

Ensure continuous electrical supply to all loads and monitor power equipment for failures or anomalies.

Verify the accuracy of reports and note any failures or irregularities.

Diagnose faults in power supply systems and perform corrective actions to restore service.

Conduct tests and verifications in compliance with Quality Assurance procedures.

Maintain and monitor tools, spare parts, and workspace logistics.

Manage task completion times and ensure the quality of work performed.

Support knowledge transfer and effective communication within the team.
-
Assist the supervisor in analyzing incident history and making informed assumptions for troubleshooting.
Maximo Scope
-
Use Maximo (or equivalent CMMS) to log maintenance activities, generate work orders, and track asset performance.

Document test results, repairs, and component replacements in the Maximo system.

Assist in scheduling and executing preventive maintenance tasks based on Maximo-generated schedules.

Update asset records and technical documentation following maintenance or installation work.
Safety Scope

Follow all safety protocols and procedures when working on or near high-voltage and DC traction systems.

Use appropriate PPE and tools in accordance with electrical safety regulations.

Participate in safety drills, toolbox talks, and hazard identification activities.

Perform lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance to ensure safe working conditions.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

Possession of a valid driving license is an advantage.
Knowledge
-
Proficient in electricity, power systems, and electronics.

Skilled in troubleshooting power supply faults and using diagnostic tools.

Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams and electrical plans.

Familiar with electrical safety rules and lockout/tagout procedures.

Knowledge of protection systems (relays, CTs, VTs, etc.).

Competent in using Microsoft Office and maintenance software.
Experience
-
3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, including at least 2 years in substations or power supply systems.

Experience in the railway or transportation industry is a strong plus.
-
Experience with DC traction systems, rectifiers, and protection devices.
-
Experience with Medium and Low Voltage equipment.
-
Proficiency in working with transformers, circuit breakers, UPS, batteries, PLCs, and control panels.
