Power Tools Technician – Main Store

The Power Tools Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and managing all power tools and small equipment used for MEP construction activities. The role ensures that all tools are safe, functional, and available to support smooth project operations and site activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical power tools used in MEP works.
• Perform preventive maintenance for drills, grinders, cutters, breakers, welding machines, and other construction tools.
• Diagnose faults and replace damaged components such as switches, motors, cables, batteries, and accessories.
• Maintain records of tool issuance, repairs, maintenance history, and spare parts usage.
• Coordinate with storekeepers and site teams regarding tool requirements and repair schedules.
• Ensure all tools comply with safety standards and company procedures.
• Test repaired tools before reissuing to users.
• Monitor tool inventory and report damaged or missing tools.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the workshop and storage area.
• Recommend replacement of tools that are beyond repair.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of tools and equipment.
• Support emergency repair requirements for urgent site operations.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Power Tools Technician, preferably in construction or MEP companies.
• Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical repair of construction power tools.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read basic technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and tool handling procedures.
• Basic computer knowledge for maintaining records and reports.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
