The Role

We are seeking a PR & Digital Outreach Strategist (contract) who can connect the dots between public relations and SEO. This person will work with our SEO team to identify opportunities, build relationships with top-tier journalists and publications, and secure valuable media coverage and backlinks for our clients.

This role requires someone who can think strategically, execute effectively, and build authentic connections with media outlets, journalists, and influencers. You’ll help ensure that our clients’ stories are told in ways that increase both visibility and authority.

Responsibilities

PR Strategy & Media Outreach

  • Develop and execute PR strategies that align with client goals and brand stories.
  • Build and nurture relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers at top publications.
  • Write and distribute press releases, media pitches, and story ideas.
  • Secure placements and features across digital, print, and broadcast media.

SEO & Digital PR

  • Collaborate closely with the SEO team to identify high-value PR opportunities that also drive search visibility.
  • Build high-quality backlinks through strategic PR and outreach campaigns.
  • Monitor and evaluate link-building efforts to ensure they add measurable value.
  • Track and report on PR/SEO outcomes including referral traffic, backlinks, and domain authority improvements.

Content & Thought Leadership

  • Identify and pitch opportunities for clients to contribute thought leadership pieces, op-eds, and guest articles.
  • Support clients in developing authority in their industries through earned media.
  • Collaborate with content and social teams to amplify media wins across platforms.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of PR, communications, or digital outreach experience.
  • Proven ability to secure high-quality media placements and backlinks.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and digital PR strategies.
  • Excellent writing and pitching skills.
  • Familiarity with PR/SEO tools (MuckRack, HARO, Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.) a plus.
  • Established relationships with journalists/editors at recognized publications preferred.
  • Agency or multi-client experience is a plus.

Compensation & Details

  • Hourly pay: $25.00 – $50.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Candidates with advanced expertise may be compensated at the higher end of this range.
  • Flexible schedule, but active presence and in-person collaboration required.
