Pre-K Special Needs Teacher at BES beginning 26-27 School Year
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for preschool students with special needs
- Provide developmentally appropriate instruction in early literacy, math readiness, communication, motor skills, and social-emotional development
- Create a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment tailored to the needs of young learners with disabilities
- Use evidence-based instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and early intervention techniques
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation of student progress and services
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other related service providers
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
- Support behavior development through positive behavior intervention strategies (PBIS/behavior plans as applicable)
- Supervise and support paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom
- Adapt materials and instructional methods to meet individual student needs
- Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, and other special education compliance activities
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations (IDEA)
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration
- Valid WV Professional Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement
- Knowledge of early childhood development and special education instructional strategies
- Experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and special education compliance requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively with families, staff, and related service providers
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Patience, flexibility, and commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners
- Ability to lift, assist, and support young children as needed
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the classroom for extended periods
- Ability to supervise students in various learning and play environments
- Ability to manage materials and equipment used in early childhood instruction

Job Summary:
The Pre-K Special Needs Teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to preschool-aged students with identified disabilities at Brookview Elementary School. The teacher will design and implement individualized learning experiences aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), focusing on developmental, social-emotional, communication, cognitive, and motor skill growth. The position requires collaboration with families, related service providers, and school staff to support the whole child in a structured, nurturing, and inclusive early learning environment.
