Schedule: 8:30 am – 5 PM

Position Type: Full Time

My Little Team Texas in San Antonio, TX is looking for a dedicated and nurturing Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4 Teacher to join our strong team of 21 educators. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, engaged, and passionate about early childhood education.

Responsibilities

Creating a Safe Environment

  • Maintain a secure, welcoming classroom environment that supports exploration and minimizes hazards.

Curriculum Development

  • Plan, prepare, and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Texas Rising Star standards.
  • Provide activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.

Monitoring Development

  • Observe and assess each child's developmental progress.
  • Document milestones and adjust teaching strategies to support individual needs.

Facilitating Play & Learning

  • Encourage learning through structured and unstructured play.
  • Offer opportunities for children to explore, experiment, and interact with peers.

Communication with Parents

  • Maintain consistent communication through Procare regarding progress, meals, behaviors, and classroom updates.
  • Foster strong, supportive relationships with families.

Promoting Holistic Child Development

To support the growth and well-being of each child, it is important to provide activities that foster physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. These activities create a balanced environment where children can thrive in multiple aspects of their lives.

Facilitating Play and Learning

Learning is encouraged through both structured and unstructured play. By offering opportunities for exploration, experimentation, and peer interaction, children can develop important skills and knowledge in a playful and engaging setting.

Communication with Parents

Maintaining consistent communication with families is vital. Using Procare, educators share updates on children's progress, meals, behaviors, and classroom activities. This ongoing dialogue helps foster strong, supportive relationships between teachers and families.

Behavior Management

Behavior management practices are incorporated to guide children in developing appropriate social and emotional skills. Positive guidance techniques are utilized to teach children how to interact respectfully with their peers, regulate their emotions, and respond to various situations in constructive ways. Through these approaches, educators foster a supportive environment where every child learns to express themselves, resolve conflicts, and build healthy relationships.

Health & Safety

  • Follow all hygiene, food safety, and supervision procedures.
  • Support children during meals, snacks, handwashing, toileting, and face-cleaning routines.
  • Help children track and care for personal belongings like jackets.

Hygiene Education

  • Reinforce healthy habits daily, including clean faces, clean hands, and self-care routines.

Documentation & Meals

  • Document children's meals, attendance, and required CACFP paperwork.

Professional Development

  • Participate in ongoing training and stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Team Collaboration

  • Work cooperatively with other teachers, staff, and specialists to ensure a positive, holistic learning experience.

Learning Environment

  • Create a stimulating classroom atmosphere rich in books, materials, and hands-on learning opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a child care setting required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a daycare or early childhood environment
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
  • Ability to create lesson plans meeting Texas Rising Star standards
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, and stand as needed
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced learning environment
  • CPR & First Aid Certification
  • Completion of 24-hour Pre-Service Training required
  • Reliable, patient, and committed to child development
